About The Position

The Clinical Information Systems Analyst for Pathology will analyze proposed information system changes to determine their impact on laboratory workflow, regulations, and patient care. The role involves analyzing trends in provider ordering, building new orderables, and maintaining current orderables and components in the Cerner Millennium Laboratory Information System (LIS). The analyst will also integrate changes from reference labs into Cerner Millennium interface tables, troubleshoot problems with LIS and other applications, and coordinate with various campus IS departments for problem resolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three to five years experience with server applications, troubleshooting, installation, and setup.
  • Three to five years experience with Cerner Millennium including database analysis, design, and build.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze proposed IS changes to determine their impact on laboratory workflow, regulations, and patient care.
  • Analyze trends in provider ordering.
  • Build new orderables and maintain current orderables and components in Cerner Millennium LIS.
  • Integrate changes from reference lab into Cerner Millennium interface tables.
  • Troubleshoot problems with LIS and other applications.
  • Engage and coordinate with various campus IS departments for resolution of problems.
  • Provide ongoing application support for Cerner including problem investigation and resolution.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Cerner Reference Lab Interface.
  • Run and distribute various LIS database reports for data entry quality, quantity, and statistical analysis.
  • Ensure CAP and UMPA guidelines are met for all Cerner activities.
  • Provide Cerner LIS training to all new employees while adhering to UMPA and CAP practices and standards.
  • Manage multiple tasks and requests while utilizing time efficiently.
  • Assist Lab Manager with additional duties as assigned.
