About The Position

The Clinical Informatics Support Specialist at Jefferson Healthcare serves as a clinical and technical liaison to nursing, medical staff, and other patient care areas. The role focuses on optimizing clinical information systems through planning, design, development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation. The specialist analyzes complex clinical operations to facilitate decision-making and ensures that information systems align with professional standards. Additionally, the position involves evaluating new care delivery technology and supporting the workforce in effectively using Electronic Health Records (EHR).

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited college or university with a current clinical license (e.g., RN, pharmacist, respiratory therapist, physical therapist).
  • Current CPR/BLS (Healthcare Provider) certification required; ACLS may be required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field required or degree in progress with a definite graduation date.
  • Coursework in informatics preferred.
  • One (1) or more years of Epic experience preferred.
  • Master's degree in healthcare informatics preferred.
  • One (1) or more years of Health Information System background and additional Information System experience strongly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a clinical and technical liaison to nursing, medical staff, and patient care areas.
  • Coordinate and optimize planning, design, development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of clinical information systems.
  • Analyze complex clinical operations and structure processes to facilitate decision-making regarding clinical systems.
  • Design information processes ensuring consistency with professional standards of practice.
  • Assist with the identification, evaluation, and assessment of new care delivery technology.
  • Develop recommendations on the impact of integration with existing workflows and systems.
  • Support and assist the workforce in efficiently using EHR.
