About The Position

Performs detailed charge review and reconciliation, supports multidisciplinary teams through actionable data analytics, and plays a key role in pharmacy medication IT builds and clinical decision support within the electronic medical record. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of charges across pharmacy services. This position bridges clinical, operational, and technical domains to support financial stability, operational efficiency, and safe patient care. Provides enterprise or departmental information systems support to Health System clinicians in the use of clinical information systems such as interdisciplinary and specialty EMRs as assigned. Assesses workflow related processes and requirements to facilitate system enhancements and modifications. Recommends, implements, and supports approved system optimizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Pharmacy, Healthcare Management, Allied Health, Information Systems, or related field, required. Master’s Degree, preferred.
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse or other healthcare discipline in New York State required.
  • Minimum of 3 years healthcare related clinical experience required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant healthcare informatics experience, required.

Nice To Haves

  • Epic experience and/or trained/certified
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (e.g. Outlook, Teams, Excel etc.)
  • Experience with Pyxis and/or Omnicell
  • Experience with data analytics and SQL
  • Post graduate year training preferred or experience in hospital based care

Responsibilities

  • Develop and analyze reports and dashboards to support multidisciplinary teams in operational and system-level decision-making.
  • Perform comprehensive charge review and reconciliation to ensure accurate capture of pharmacy-related charges.
  • Serve as a liaison between pharmacy, IT, finance, and clinical teams.
  • Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of clinical decision support tools to enhance operational workflows, medication safety, and efficiency.
  • Collaborates with management and clinicians in designing, implementing and maintaining clinical systems. Assists in the development of design specifications in support of new or modified clinical applications, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  • Documents current processes to establish a baseline for developmental improvements of future workflows. Analyzes, recommends, and assists with implementing new and improved processes and workflows.
  • Acts as a liaison and represents the system users/customers in all project initiatives. Performs post-implementation monitoring of adoption and use.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary and process improvement teams to identify potential uses of the information systems and potential optimization of current use of systems.
  • Supports the integration and use of evidence-based methods, tools, and guidelines linked to effective outcomes.
  • Supports data analytics, including quality of care measures, to improve population health outcomes and global health. Supports clinical staff in the real time application of information to change healthcare delivery and affect patient outcomes.
  • Acts as a liaison to clinically related committees (i.e. Nursing Institute, Institute for Clinical Excellence, Medication Safety committee, Evidence-Based Research committee, etc.) and staff to coordinate and communicate CIS projects and outcomes measurement.
  • Appraises computer and informational technologies for their applicability to nursing practice problems.
