About The Position

The Clinical Informatics Specialist at UC Health is responsible for applying informatics principles to enhance clinical technology applications within the healthcare setting. This role involves collaboration with clinicians and informaticists to optimize the use of technology in patient care, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and leading educational initiatives related to clinical informatics.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Nursing, Information Management, or a related clinical field.
  • Board Certification in Informatics from the American Nurses Credentialing Center-Nursing Informatics.
  • 3+ years of experience in a clinical or healthcare environment.
  • 2+ years of informatics-related experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Current RN license to practice in the State of Ohio or other related healthcare discipline licensure as appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Guide clinical end users and clinical leaders in the investigation, design, implementation, and evaluation of solutions to optimize efficient use of clinical technology applications.
  • Analyze, interpret and communicate clinical and information systems data and trends to improve patient care and efficient use of clinical technology applications.
  • Provide leadership amongst the Clinical Informatics team and oversee informatics-related projects and activities.
  • Lead clinical and technical educators in the development and review of education relevant to clinical technology applications.
  • Solicit end-user feedback on clinical technology applications actively.
  • Collaborate on UC Health improvement projects, initiatives, and activities as they relate to clinical informatics.
  • Participate in organizational SOP and policy reviews and revisions related to the use of clinical technology systems.
  • Support organizational compliance with regulatory expectations within supported technology applications.
  • Collaborate with clinical users and other stakeholders on hospital-wide and system-wide committees as a representative of clinical informatics.
  • Pursue personal professional development in the science of clinical informatics and attend educational offerings relevant to current assignments.
