About The Position

The Clinical Informatics Specialist plays a crucial role in promoting the integration and application of healthcare information technology to support clinicians and align with the organization's strategic goals. This position focuses on optimizing the use of clinical information systems to enhance patient care, safety, user satisfaction, and quality outcomes, acting as a bridge between clinical knowledge and technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in a clinical environment required.
  • Two or more years of experience working in an informatics role preferred.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), social, and organizational skills.
  • Sound knowledge of clinical practice and integration of clinical information systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed clinician such as nurse, physical therapist, occupational therapist, pharmacy technician, dietitian, or respiratory therapist preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes knowledge of BSWH policies and procedures to provide guidance for process improvements and user acceptance testing.
  • Participates in user acceptance testing and assists with the investigation of problems.
  • Organizes project tasks against milestones and deliverables with minimal supervision.
  • Partners with the EPIC training team to develop clinical communication.
  • Communicates system changes and workflow process changes to clinicians/providers.
  • Completes rounding in assigned inpatient/outpatient areas to provide ongoing support.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities to facilitate team goals.
