About The Position

The Clinical Informaticist (CI) will provide leadership in all aspects of the life cycle of Clinical Information systems. Relationship management across diverse stakeholder groups is an essential requisite skill and accountability. In particular, the CI will serve as a liaison between clinicians and IT professionals to facilitate a common understanding of HSA clinical standards and process improvement activities across multidisciplinary teams throughout the lifecycle of clinical systems implementations and maintenance activities. The Clinical Informatics acts as supporter and change agent for hospital leaders and clinicians to ensure maximum benefit of the HSA Electronic Health Record (EHR) and compliance with federal and state regulations. The focus of the role is to facilitate clinicians and hospital leaders and federal and state regulations. The focus of the role is to facilitate clinicians and hospital leaders towards adoption of the EHR by acting as a liaison between operations, the clinical setting workflows, and information technology. Finally, the CI demonstrates a clear understanding of the Steward vision for Applied Clinical Informatics, (ACI), Patient Safety and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA).

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate preparation in nursing preferred, with associated credentialing in good standing.
  • Hospital management experience recommended.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles and facilitation/presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to details.
  • Demonstrated effective organizational, research, data analysis skills, time management and priority setting skills in accomplishing assigned work deliverables in a dynamic climate of competing demands.
  • Ability to facilitate and deliver accurate assessments and reporting tools ie; Adoption and Sustainment score card.
  • Strong conceptual skills, with demonstrated knowledge and skill in problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking.
  • Demonstrated ability to function both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach and facilitate change and innovation.
  • Good understanding of clinical workflows and integration of technology.
  • Vision-sees the big picture and can represent the mission and goals of the HSA ACI Department.
  • Regarded as highly visible, driven, and charismatic leader of informatics.
  • A passion for excellence which elevates the abilities and competencies of the various patient care providers.
  • Strong back record of establishing relationships, which facilitate and enhance the image of nursing practice at the organizational level.
  • Competent user of Microsoft products.
  • Current Florida RN License
  • Holds current BLS card
  • Must clear background and drug test required.

  • Master's degree in related health care field an asset.
