About The Position

The Clinical Informaticist 3 leads complex projects, manages application enhancements, and ensures comprehensive support and training. This role requires a deeper technical understanding and the ability to handle more significant system improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, Master’s in Nursing / informatics preferred
  • Nursing Licensure or other professional licensures
  • Informatics Certificate
  • Epic Certification in at least one core clinical application
  • Minimum 5 years of experience, in clinical operations, Hospital IT or Healthcare vendor
  • Experience participating as a team lead on at least (1) implementation of a module or system, preferably Epic.
  • Proficiency in metrics/ outcomes development: baseline capture, documentation of proposed metrics; methods to capture / measure and monitor preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs, Excel (pivot tables), Visio, Project, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Knowledge of state-of-the art technology.
  • Experience with major systems development and implementation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management and control.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and provide solutions.
  • Ability to effectively work with people in other departments and/or outside of the enterprise.
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the management and support of clinical applications, including troubleshooting and resolving complex issues.
  • Develops and refines end-user documentation and training materials.
  • Oversees operational workflow validation, including detailed requirements gathering and user acceptance.
  • Leads software upgrades and testing processes, including the creation and validation of detailed test plans.
  • Coordinates and oversees software updates and changes, ensuring thorough testing and reporting of results.
  • Ensures data accuracy and regulatory compliance through regular checks and audits.
  • Develops and implements strategies to address change impacts and resistance, collaborating with key stakeholders.
  • Leads the design, development, and implementation of system enhancements and new features.
  • Manages database conversions and performs in-depth system analysis.
  • Conducts advanced training sessions for users on complex applications and solutions.
  • Handles SLA breaches and works with customers to resolve issues and ensure service quality.
  • Leads and manages major projects related to system improvements and enhancements.
  • Adheres to UHealth IT standards.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
  • Optimize / streamline workflows for Future State: process driven technology and work to reduce system and process variability by harmonizing workflows
  • Informaticist role on implementations and upgrades: focusing on workflow design, validation testing / user acceptance testing, end user readiness (change management, training, policy, roles) and end user adoption
  • When encountering established systems this role will review (document where needed) current state workflows and workstreams, identify opportunities to streamline and harmonize system-wide workflows acting as an advocate for physician’s needs.
  • Perform analysis of new releases and determine how they will impact clinical workflow; participate or facilitate sessions with end users to prioritize and confirm changes that will be implemented as part of the release.
  • Collaborate with trainers on system changes and new features to develop documentation and training strategies.
  • Addressing end user problems and challenges with the UChart systems which may include software, hardware, or network difficulties.
  • Documenting and routing these issues to the correct UHIT team and facilitate resolution and communication to stakeholder.
  • Perform periodic rounding to identify clinician issues throughout the health system.
  • Partner with appropriate IT teams to develop and implement an issue resolution plan.
  • This may include opening and tracking IT tickets and working with UChart analysts through resolution.
  • Travel throughout UHealth System to provide support as determined by any Go Live schedule
