Responsibilities include collecting and analyzing process and quality data to initiate, develop, and recommend operational practices and procedures that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity, and reduced costs. The position requires experience in hospital epidemiology principles and is responsible for the surveillance, analysis, reporting, and prevention of healthcare-associated infections. This includes educating healthcare providers, patients, and families about infection control, as well as developing health system policies and procedures to ensure rigorous infection control standards that meet Joint Commission, OSHA, Community Health Departments, and CDC requirements. The role also involves utilizing infection prevention information, research, and other quantitative data to analyze and synthesize plans to mitigate risks related to infections, streamline processes, or improve performance. The individual will serve as an internal consultant, providing guidance on infection prevention, cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization practices and products. Additionally, the position facilitates quality improvement activities to stabilize processes, reduce variation, and improve outcomes, fostering a culture of safe and infection-free care. The role requires maintaining collaborative relationships with team members, internal customers, and external agencies, performing ongoing surveillance to identify and mitigate risks related to infections, and engaging with team and leadership in a professional manner.
