About The Position

The Clinical Imaging Technician position at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) is a full-time role focused on supporting the ongoing operation, development, and implementation of whole slide digital pathology systems within the Pathology Department. This position is crucial as the field of pathology imaging, particularly whole slide digital pathology, is rapidly evolving and has the potential to significantly transform the practice of anatomic pathology. The successful candidate will work closely with Digital Imaging Pathology Faculty and will report directly to the Supervisor of Asset Management Service. The role involves a variety of responsibilities, including the daily scheduling, operation, maintenance, quality control, and assurance of the department's digital imaging systems, with a strong emphasis on digital slide imaging systems. The technician will be responsible for developing and maintaining databases of digital images and associated data, assisting with hardware and network interfaces related to digital pathology, and implementing standard operating procedures to facilitate the integration of digital imaging into the department's workflows. Additionally, the technician will coordinate and maintain equipment, train personnel at affiliated sites, troubleshoot service complaints, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The position requires a high level of personal responsibility and independent judgment, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects with precision and attention to detail. Training users at all levels will also be a significant component of the role, as the technology will be new to many users. Overall, this position is integral to the advancement of digital pathology practices at MGH, requiring a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to quality assurance in clinical applications.
