About The Position

The Clinical Imaging Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining the Diagnostic Imaging film library and ensuring efficient operations within the department. This position involves updating records, processing film loans, and providing reception services. The assistant also supports physicians by managing digital images and facilitating patient transport, ensuring comfort and safety during transfers.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
• Understanding of medical terminology is necessary.
• Basic understanding of hospital routines and inter-departmental relations is required.
• Excellent customer service skills and basic patient care skills are essential.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Basic computer skills and phone etiquette are necessary.

Nice To Haves

• Previous patient contact experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Diagnostic Imaging film library.
• Update records and process film loans.
• Provide reception services and route calls to appropriate areas.
• Order exams and prepare records for distribution to imaging and requesting facilities and/or physicians.
• Assist physicians with digital images and distribute or fax reports to physicians and inpatient units.
• Transport patients to and from various nursing units and maintain Diagnostic Imaging patient transport equipment.
• Perform digital image processing, image copying, and CD burning.
• Transport equipment, supplies, and specimens as needed.
• Ensure the comfort and safety of each patient during transfer from one unit to the next.
• Assist technical and nursing staff in the transfer and ambulation of patients.
