POSITION SUMMARY The Clinical Imaging Assistant maintains the Diagnostic Imaging film library. Updates records, processes film loans and retrieves file records. Provides reception and routes calls to appropriate areas, orders exams and prepares records for distribution to imaging and requesting facilities and/or physicians. Assists physicians with Digital Images and distributes, and/or faxes reports to physicians and inpatient units. Transports patients to and from various nursing units and maintains Diagnostic Imaging patient transport equipment. Performs digital image processing, image copying, CD burning and related duties. Transports equipment, supplies and specimens as needed. Assures the comfort and safety of each patient during transfer from one unit to the next. Assists technical and nursing staff in transfer and ambulation of patients on nursing and in Diagnostic Services. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education/Licensure/Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required. Previous patient contact experience preferred. Knowledge: Must have an understanding of medical terminology. Basic understanding of hospital routines and how they relate to each department within the institution. Previous patient contact experience preferred. Skills: Excellent customer service skills, basic patient care skills and an understanding of confidentiality requirements. Excellent communication both verbally and written. Customer Service Advocacy is required. Basic computer skills and phone etiquette is required.
