About The Position

AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) is seeking exceptional MDs or DOs who have completed residencies in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine to join our Clinical Fellowship in HIV Primary Care. This 1-year paid fellowship program will begin in August 2025 and will be based in the Southern California area, with potential expansion to other states such as Florida, Georgia, Texas, and New York by 2026. The fellowship will consist of rotations that encompass a robust mix of HIV primary care, hepatitis B & C treatment, HIV-related mental health, public health/STI treatment, and more. Additionally, the program offers a unique opportunity to participate in our global initiative with an embedded rotation at one of our international healthcare centers. Upon completion, physicians will have the requisite clinical and didactic hours to sit for the AAHIV exam.

Requirements

• Medical degree (M.D., D.O., RNP) from an accredited university.
• Successful completion of an ACGME accredited residency program in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
• California Medical License.
• DEA license.

Responsibilities

• Participate in rotations covering HIV primary care, hepatitis B & C treatment, and HIV-related mental health.
• Engage in public health/STI treatment and address challenges faced within underserved communities.
• Manage poly-pharmacy and provide transgender care.
• Oversee PrEP and PEP management and quality care initiatives.
• Address LGBTQ-specific needs in healthcare.
• Take part in a global initiative with an embedded rotation at an international healthcare center.
