About The Position

The Helix School is excited to welcome a Clinical Fellow (CF) for the 2025–26 school year. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity for new Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) to complete their Clinical Fellowship in a supportive and collaborative environment. You will work alongside two experienced SLPs and a full interdisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, counselors, behavior specialists, and teachers. The role specializes in working with neurodivergent students, particularly those with autism, and focuses on augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and developmental/relationship-based approaches. The Helix School emphasizes mentorship, providing on-site supervision, training in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Special Education Instructional Services (SEIS), and regular coaching throughout the week. The school fosters a joyful, collaborative culture that celebrates every child's strengths.

Requirements

  • Eligibility for your CF year (CCC supervision provided)
  • Experience or strong interest in working with autistic students
  • Familiarity with AAC and developmental approaches (SCERTS, DIR/Floortime) a plus
  • Flexible, growth-minded, and excited to learn!

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct therapy (individual & group) aligned with IEP goals
  • Support communication in natural settings (snack, lunch, community outings)
  • Participate in IEP meetings and write progress notes with support from your mentor SLP
  • Partner with teachers and staff on communication strategies and AAC integration
