About The Position

Indiana University Bloomington, the flagship campus of Indiana University and a major research-intensive university, is seeking a Clinical Faculty Professor of Arts Education. The scholar selected for the position will be at the forefront of advancing teaching and learning in Arts Education with knowledge of latest theories and research methodologies in arts education. The position is at the rank of Associate or Full Clinical Professor. The faculty member selected will have primary responsibilities of teaching courses and directing research dissertations of students of the online Ed.D. and residential Ph.D. programs in Curriculum and Instruction – Specialization in Art Education. Additional responsibilities include overseeing and/or instructing undergraduate generalist and art education majors in the Arts Education (visual art and drama/theatre education) program.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students and supervising doctoral research primarily in visual art education, with opportunities to work with students in performance, and media foci, and the potentiality of course and program coordination
  • Cultivating a collaborative and stimulating intellectual community by forging interdisciplinary partnerships across the Department, School of Education, University and with external organizations, including K–16 schools.
  • Engaging in outreach with arts educators to connect research with practice.
  • Conducting and disseminating impactful research in teaching publications and professional venues.
