About The Position

The Clinical Exercise Physiologist II (CEP II) works with patients and clients challenged with cardiovascular, pulmonary, and metabolic diseases and disorders, as well as with healthy populations in cooperation with other healthcare professionals to enhance quality of life, manage health risk, and promote lasting health behavior change. The CEP II conducts pre-participation health screenings and initial exercise assessments for chronic diseases; designs and implements plan of care as required by CMS; performs strength, flexibility, and body composition tests; and designs and administers exercise programs designed to enhance aerobic endurance, cardiovascular function, muscular strength and endurance, balance, and range of motion. This position case manages Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation patients as assigned, and educates clients about testing, exercise program components, and clinical and lifestyle self-care for control of chronic disease and health conditions. The CEP II performs other departmental diagnostics as needed (e.g., ECGs and stress tests).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Master’s of Science degree in Exercise Science or related field required (combination of education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered in lieu of graduate degree).
  • One or more years’ experience required in a cardiac and/or pulmonary rehabilitation program in a similar position with expertise in teaching/providing education in the areas of exercise, chronic disease management, and/or risk factor reduction (e.g., cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitation, metabolic syndrome clinic, diabetes prevention).
  • BLS required within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS required within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM EP-C), ACSM -Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM CEP), and/or ACSM Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist Certification (ACSM RCEP) preferred.

Responsibilities
