Under the direction of the Director of Clinical Practice and Professional Development, the Clinical Excellence Program Educator serves as a key member of the nursing leadership team, advancing a culture of excellence consistent with Magnet principles. This role promotes transformational leadership by inspiring and guiding nurses toward evidence-based practice, professional growth, and continuous improvement in patient safety, satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The educator ensures structural empowerment by providing reliable educational resources and fostering development opportunities that enable direct care nurses to achieve and maintain competency for safe, high-quality patient care in alignment with hospital policy and standards. As part of exemplary professional practice, the Clinical Excellence Program Educator collaborates across disciplines to deliver patient-focused care that is seamless, cost-effective, and outcome-oriented. They actively engage in and drive innovation and empirical quality improvement, including real-time assessment of evidence-based practices, feedback to staff, and collection of quality data for aggregate analysis. A critical component of this role is overseeing the Nurse Residency Program, which supports successful transition-to-practice for new graduate nurses and directly impacts retention and engagement. Responsibilities include: Designing and implementing a structured residency curriculum aligned with national standards. Developing and supporting preceptors and mentors to foster a positive onboarding experience. Monitoring program outcomes, retention rates, and satisfaction metrics to identify trends and drive continuous improvement. Reporting program effectiveness and aligning initiatives with organizational goals and Magnet standards. By championing professional development, promoting professional governance, and implementing strategies that enhance nurse engagement and retention, this role strengthens the organization’s commitment to Magnet values and the advancement of nursing excellence. Education/Training Graduate of an accredited school of nursing BSN required Master’s degree in nursing 5-10 years of current clinical experience; telemetry experience preferred Licenses/Certification: Current MA RN license BLS ACLS Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) To measure success in this role, the following KPIs will be tracked: Nurse Retention Rate : Percentage of nurses retained at 12 months and 24 months post-hire. Residency Program Completion Rate : Percentage of new graduate nurses successfully completing the program. Residency Satisfaction Scores : Average satisfaction rating from program participants and preceptors. Turnover Reduction : Year-over-year decrease in voluntary turnover among new graduate nurses as well as experienced nurses. Competency Validation Compliance : Percentage of staff meeting competency requirements within designated timeframes. Magnet-Related Outcomes : Evidence of improved patient safety, quality indicators, and nurse engagement scores. Professional Development Participation : Attendance and completion rates for educational offerings and workshops as well as participation in The Sturdy Health Clinical Ladder Program
