As a Clinical Engineering (CE) Imaging Technician I, you will independently diagnose, repair, calibrate and perform preventive maintenance on ultrasound equipment, portable/fixed x-ray rooms and mammography equipment while supporting assigned systems with minimal vendor support. A caregiver in this position works Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with the ability to travel to other CCF locations based on business needs. System downtime has an immediate impact on patient care and caregiver satisfaction. Knowledge of complex electronic, pneumatic, or mechanical systems related to the assigned complex medical system, In-depth knowledge of engineering theory and principles related to the assigned complex medical system.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering Technology
  • Two years of CCF Clinical Engineering Tech II experience or four years outside experience maintaining and troubleshooting medical equipment OR 2 years of specialty work experience servicing of general radiology equipment, X-ray generating equipment, interventional radiology, ultrasound equipment, portable/fixed x-ray rooms, mammography equipment or other similar complex medical systems
  • Equivalent specialized OR military training may substitute for the degree.
  • OR High School diploma/GED and four years of CC Clinical Engineering Tech experience OR six years outside experience maintaining and troubleshooting medical equipment OR equipment in a mechanical or electrical technician field and successful completion of a radiological service training program from an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) OR Radiological Service Institute Training (RSTI) equivalent certification
  • OR Bachelor's degree in Biomedical or Electrical Engineering OR IT technical field
  • Knowledge of complex electronic, pneumatic, or mechanical systems related to the assigned complex medical system, In-depth knowledge of engineering theory and principles related to the assigned complex medical system
  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of a radiological service training program from an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or Radiological Service Institute Training (RSTI) equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze system failures of medical imaging systems and perform repairs in accordance with manufacturer protocol within time standards set by service level agreements.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on complex medical systems and develop preventive maintenance procedures based on site specific requirements incorporating usage and other performance metrics.
  • Perform incoming inspections of new equipment and complete documentation for CMMS database.
  • Act as an enterprise resource providing technical expertise on the assigned imaging equipment.
  • Provide on-the-job cross training to fellow technicians for devices they are trained on.
