About The Position

Support the department's objective of Clinical Engineering (attachment A). With some guidance, leads clinical engineering related project through all stages of its lifecycle. Works with a multidisciplinary team of internal and external customers and stakeholders to identify the needs, coordinates the purchase, manages the installation, conducts job site inspections to ensure compliance with project scope, and quality of work with consideration to clinical needs plans for the handoff to day-to-day operations, and documents the project. May manage a project team of other clinical engineers, BMETs, and/or team leaders. Under supervision and guidance, investigates clinical incidents involving medical devices and prepares and files appropriate reports (with Risk and Quality department) disseminates information regarding possible hazards and implements corrective action. Vendor compliance for medical equipment service repairs this includes vendor onboarding to the Clinical Engineering database, ensuring all repairs and PM paperwork is properly submitted, coordinating vendor visits, and addressing concerns with vendors. Work in conjunction with the department to manage the process for service contract renewals, amendments, Update and maintain accurate records and reports for contracts in the CE database, and coordination of vendor activities with departments Communicates to manufacturers about problems with medical devices; ensures appropriate response. Performs other related duties as required. Operational coordination of medical device installations with vendors, Biomedical Technician and department Independent analysis, coordination and remediation activities for medical device recalls with the vendor, clinical department, clinical engineering technician and supervisor. Assist the Dirctor and Manager of Clinical Engineering with alert and recall management, and other environmental of care reporting. Assist with medical equipment data analysis and report preparations and preparation of billing reports for the clinics. Analyzing, prioritizing, implementation and monitoring of medical device network activities in conjunction with IS department, and clinical engineering department. Assists department Director and other Clinical Engineering management staff in evaluation and supervision of technical staff as they perform duties & responsibilities related to technical support, maintenance and repair of patient care equipment. Conducts regular job site inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory / aspects of medical equipment management per the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP) to support front-line technicians while servicing complex Life Support and all other medical equipment. Also, to assist Director & other Clinical Engineering management staff to monitor, analyze, and take appropriate action to ensure manufacturer, Regulatory, institutional and departmental guideline compliance. Monitors and manages the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) data to ensure accurate recordkeeping, regulatory compliance, and timely status reporting. Identifies and corrects data inconsistencies while maintaining complete and up-to-date preventive maintenance schedules, service procedures, equipment histories, and vendor documentation. Ensures CMMS data supports Joint Commission, CMS, NFPA-99, and institutional Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP) requirements, enabling effective decision-making, issue resolution. Reviews and updates preventive maintenance (PM) procedures to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and equipment safety. Collaborates with the Clinical Engineering team to develop streamlined, time-saving workflows that support Biomed Technicians and maintain the highest standards of medical equipment reliability and performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial engineering, or other related technology fields.
  • 2 years of relevant medical equipment service experience or other related healthcare, research or contract related experience.
  • Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a non-frequent driver.
