About The Position

The Clinical Engineer - Tech 1 - Biomed position at UVA Medical Center involves a basic understanding of engineering disciplines including electronics, pneumatics, mechanical systems, basic TCP/IP networking, desktop computing, and human physiology. The role is responsible for installing, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, conducting quality assurance, and investigating accidents related to medical technology. Key responsibilities include the maintenance and calibration of medical equipment while ensuring compliance with safety rules, codes, practices, and policies. The engineer will analyze medical device performance through the completion of preventive maintenance (PM), perform calibration of sophisticated medical devices using various test equipment and patient simulators, complete repairs on minor to complex medical equipment, maintain the UVA medical equipment inventory system, and comply with all safety regulations. Initial inspections on medical equipment are also part of the job, and other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

• High School or Post High School Tech Training.
• 0-3 years relevant experience.
• Valid Driver's license required.
