About The Position

We are seeking a Clinical Educator who thrives in a collaborative, service-line–focused environment and is committed to advancing nursing practice, quality outcomes, and safe, patient- and family-centered care. In this role, you will coordinate and deliver education that equips nursing staff with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to assess, identify, and respond to the complex needs of the patients they serve. Working within a matrix reporting model, the Clinical Educator partners closely with nursing leadership and clinical education teams to design and deliver impactful learning experiences that support both clinical excellence and cost-effective care.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in the area of interest required.
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, sound judgment, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Positive negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of nursing policies and procedures.
  • Ability to synthesize, prioritize, and translate knowledge into practice.
  • Skilled in adapting teaching methods to diverse learning styles.
  • Solid understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design.

Nice To Haves

  • National certification in specialty preferred; encouraged to obtain within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and demonstrate proficiency in patient physical assessment, patient care, and core nursing skills, including mobility, respiratory care, nutrition, pain management, oral care, infection prevention, lift equipment use, and vital sign monitoring.
  • Reinforce nursing policies, procedures, protocols, and clinical practice guidelines with staff.
  • Coordinate nursing-centered rounds and bedside reporting in collaboration with Nurse Managers and Case Managers, with the ability to support phased implementation of multidisciplinary rounds.
  • Develop and deliver service-line–specific educational programs in collaboration with preceptors and the Nursing Practice Development Specialist (NPDS), utilizing classroom, informal, and on-site learning formats.
  • Monitor and track staff compliance with required education and maintain attendance documentation.
  • Ensure quality professional practice by maintaining clinical competency, updating knowledge and skills, and engaging in ongoing professional development.
  • Communicate effectively, positively, and professionally while role-modeling organizational behavioral expectations.
  • Collaborate with Nurse Managers, Assistant Nurse Managers, preceptors, and NPDS to design, implement, and evaluate unit orientation programs and annual education needs assessments.
  • Promote a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, staff, and the facility, including teaching interpretation of nurse-sensitive indicators and supporting performance improvement initiatives.
  • Support age- and developmentally appropriate patient care in accordance with Age/Developmental Specific Care Guidelines.
