The Clinical Educator influences professional role competence and professional growth of learners in a variety of settings. The Clinical Educator provides educational expertise in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing orientation, continuing education, and in-service education programs. The Clinical Educator is accountable for planning, implementing, evaluating, and revising needs-based educational systems that support clinical practice and regulatory requirements. The Clinical Educator contributes to the profession's body of knowledge by participating in IRB-approved nursing research and translating the research into current nursing practice. The Clinical Educator provides educational support to achieve the organization's mission of excellent patient care and nursing's vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountable nursing practice committed to patient advocacy and innovative patient care in a climate of trust and collaboration.
