What would I contribute? The Clinical Educator is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs; programs will utilize and enhance evidence based practice, support all learning styles, and foster empowerment and collaboration of learning, incorporating the small homes philosophy and St. John's brand characteristics. The Clinical Educator will provide the interface for communication of elder care needs with members of other disciplines and ensure complete follow through, collaborate with Nursing Administration to identify educational opportunities, including the ability to identify internal and external subject matter experts to leverage for nursing and home specific educational needs. As a visible clinical leader to St. John's, the Clinical Educator will foster a supportive learning environment that celebrates successes that enhance the elders' care. The Clinical Educator will work closely with clinical leaders on each floor to create and maintain a continuous communication cycle that ensures clear expectations, needs, and successes are communicated across the leadership team, to all disciplines. The Clinical Educator will work extensively with Nurse Leaders to ensure care plans and related documentation is without error, providing training on any necessary areas, and serving as the final reviewer prior to signing off on documentation submitted by LPN Clinical Coordinators. What will make me successful on the job?

Requirements

  • Current New York State Nursing License - LPN required
  • Ten (10) years of experience as an LPN required
  • Current CPR certification required
  • A minimum of one (1) year of long-term care experience required
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and organizational skills
  • Ability to work off shifts and weekends quarterly to deliver in-service training

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in teaching/leadership role strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Nursing preferred
