About The Position

As a Clinical Educator LVN, you will be responsible for assessing, designing, facilitating, implementing, and evaluating educational programs for Dignity Health Medical Foundation clinical staff (medical assistants and nursing staff), with the goal of improving job knowledge, enhancing skills, and ensuring that clinical staff are able to provide excellent support for physicians and patients. The position is responsible for New Employee Orientation of clinical staff, as well as ongoing education, one on one coaching and development as well as program and process development for clinical personnel. The Clinical Educator is responsible for the day-to-day clinical leadership to the non-physician clinical staff, along with leadership and oversight of training and development of supervisors, leads, and employees across the organization. Position ensures clinical services are effective, meets all regulatory requirements, and provides patients with quality health care utilizing appropriate staff resources. This position is hybrid in-clinic (will travel to clinics throughout the Greater Sacramento area) and work from home.

Requirements

  • Content expertise in the type of work performed in a multi-specialty group practice, ambulatory setting
  • Experience in the development and presentation of training courses. Experience coaching others and identifying learning needs.
  • Knowledge of instructional skills and adult learning theory, educational techniques and methodologies.
  • Ability to present information in a clear and concise format to various audience levels in classroom and individual settings.
  • Clear and current CA Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license.
  • Current BLS through American Heart Association

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years experience in a physician practice setting preferred.
  • Precepting experience preferred.
  • Expanded IV Therapy Course preferred.
  • Multi-language skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, present/coordinate and evaluate organizational, departmental, and center specific educational programs and services.
  • Responsible for the education of new clinical employees during New Employee Orientation and follow-up.
  • Provide resource and clinical expertise to administrators and supervisors including assistance and guidance in the hiring of clinical personnel.
  • Provide ongoing education opportunities as well as mandatory education for clinical personnel.
  • Coordinate and implement annual training such as clinical skills fairs.
  • Perform monthly clinical audits or as instructed by leadership.
