About The Position

The Clinical Educator position is responsible for providing personalized education by designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating classroom and clinical instruction to support the orientation, ongoing educational needs and professional development of Patient Care Resource Managers (PCRM) and Social Workers (SW). The Clinical Educator functions as an educational consultant within the Health System, working with teams, including Nursing Staff Development, to cultivate collaboration, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The Clinical Educator will have a clear understanding and knowledge of the role and expectations of the PCRM and SW across the Health System. The Clinical Educator will also continue to fulfill responsibilities in the role of PCRM to stay current with all facets of the role as well as with changes in government and payer guidelines and regulations. The Clinical Educator is a nurse who demonstrates expertise in staff education, practice and care delivery, evidence-based practice and research, and collaborates with other disciplines in professional development activities. The Clinical Educator incorporates knowledge and skill in nursing theory and practice, adult learning principles and best practice educational standards. The Clinical Educator is responsible for facilitating the educational activities of the PCRM and SW Department, to include, but not limited to orientation and continuing education activities for professional development. The Clinical Educator serves as a role model and resource for staff within the department/institution and community.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree
  • Experience as a PCRM required
  • RN licensure
  • 5 years recent clinical experience applicable to patient population, home care, hospice, community agency, and/or payor relations preferred
  • knowledge of complexity of patient care required
  • strong leadership skills, problem-solving and organizational skills required
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets and relational databases
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills

Nice To Haves

  • Masters preferred.
  • Previous experience in staff development/education preferred.
