About The Position

About this Position: The PRN Contract Clinical Educator is responsible for utilizing professional skills and clinical experience to train patients to properly inject the medication for a rare infectious disease. This role will be dedicated to helping patients understand the injection support available to them and feel confident about starting therapy.

Requirements

• Current, unrestricted licensed RN or NP
• Patient education experience, including injection education
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust; able to support patients that have varying degrees of experience with health literacy
• Able to empathize with, and motivate, patients who are injection nave
• Critical thinking to assess patient needs and apply solutions
• Ability to use motivational interviewing to help patients with goal setting, resolving concerns or barriers
• Available to travel to sites within assigned territory; this could include air travel
• Competent and comfortable utilizing technology
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products

Nice To Haves

• Experience working for or contracting with pharmaceutical or device company preferred

Responsibilities

• Responsible for training on pre-approved curriculum
• Conduct individual patient education sessions (programs) to help the patient understand how to properly inject the prescribed medication.
• Assist patients/caregivers in understanding treatment protocols of the prescribing physician; provide training on proper use of medication including self-injection techniques and use of injection device.
• Educate on proper use, handling, and administration of medication to instill confidence in patients.
• Schedule activities, conduct trainings and submit completed documentation to Momentum in a timely manner
• Ensure all activities are conducted in a manner that is compliant with all MLS, client, and industry mandated rules and regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned
