About The Position

The Clinical Education Specialist (CES) is a Registered Nurse who is clinically competent in his/her area of specialty nursing and demonstrates expanded roles of nursing in expert patient care delivery, education, consultation, research application and utilization, and leadership/administration. The Clinical Education Specialist functions as an educator in a variety of settings for a variety of audiences. The CES is a staff education development and competency expert that delivers high quality education while assuring accrediting agency standards are maintained and current. The Clinical Education Specialist will design and implement educational programs for their specialty area and throughout the organization. The Clinical Specialist will support orientation, on-going education, and competency requirements for all staff in their specialty area. The job expectations also include promoting excellence in patient care delivery, supporting, and facilitating professional growth and development and upholding standards of professionalism.

Requirements

  • Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse. Must hold a license in the state of permanent residency.
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing with Bachelor's Degree or higher in Nursing.
  • Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in area of specialty required, including experience with electronic EMR.
  • Master's Degree required or earned within 5 years of hire
  • BLS instructor certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Specialty life support instructor certification required within 1 year of hire.
  • Certification in nursing specialty required within 1 year of hire.
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations in a group setting.
  • Experience with computer programs such as Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word Excel, and outlook)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with teaching adult learners and with clinical education is preferred.
  • Experience with learning management systems is preferred.
