About The Position

The University of St. Thomas School of Law (Minnesota) invites applications for one or more full-time faculty positions in the Department of Clinical Education, beginning in Fall 2026. We will consider applicants in all subject areas and invite applicants to propose the type of clinic they are interested in directing. We will consider both entry-level and lateral candidates, and we are open to tenure-track, tenured, and non-tenure-track appointments. We seek candidates who are, or have the potential to become, excellent teachers and scholars and who will also contribute to our distinctive mission as a Catholic law school. The School of Law offers an innovative curriculum emphasizing professional formation and the education of the whole person. Requirements

  • Possess a J.D. or equivalent academic degree.
  • For tenure-track positions, demonstrate strong academic credentials and strong scholarly potential.
  • For lateral tenure-track or tenured candidates, demonstrate an outstanding scholarly record, a history of excellence in teaching, and substantial service.
  • For non-tenure-track positions, no history of scholarly publications required but may be expected to teach more than 10-12 credits per academic year.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an active scholarly agenda.
  • Teach approximately 10-12 credits per academic year (if a tenure-track or tenured appointment).
  • Engage in both internal and external service.
