Works collaboratively with executive/senior leadership and other appropriate team members on strategic, organizational initiatives. Responsible for providing leadership, direction, and administration of activities relating to patient care, nursing practice, nursing education, provider relations and clinical development across Inpatient Services. ROLE OVERVIEW Knowledge and Experience Requires exceptional business knowledge specific to a Health Service, Ancillary & Medical Support or System Support as well as technical and operational capability to define and/or oversee program design in a broad area of responsibility. Applies extensive business and industry expertise and provides organizational thought leadership. Exhibits servant leadership by serving to negotiate and compromise with parties who may have conflicting objectives. Team Oversight, Leadership &Talent Management Commits to Servant Leadership, continuing to develop skills identified in our Attitudes & Attributes. Manages a Health Service, Ancillary & Medical Support or System Support which may include multiple teams led by VPs, Senior Directors, Directors, and Managers Ensures appropriate selection, organization and leadership for major areas within the organization. Identifying servant leadership as a core skill required for success in all areas. Coaches and develops leadership talent. Invests in mentorship. Typically has substantial latitude for hiring, firing, promotion and reward authority within own area, in accordance with Delegation of Authority Policy. Develops, establishes, and implements long-term strategies for a Health Service, Ancillary & Medical Support or System Support with direct impact on the achievement of System results. Directly influences and reinforces the organization’s strategy and vision. Requires the ability to garner support for the strategic vision from the VPs and other Associates. Understands current market demands. Adapts strategies and vision based on the needs of our customers/consumers and associates. Focus, Innovation and Complexity Improves on processes, systems, or services, leveraging personal past experiences and in-depth understanding of best practices in the marketplace that may improve the competitive position of the System. Commits to the project management process, acting regularly as a project sponsor. Responsible for strategically considering business case, resource investment, change management, and implementation elements at all stages of the project. Considers the business impact of decision making on a Health Service, Ancillary & Medical Support or System Support and the System as a whole. Communicates within and outside of the System, including partners, customers, or vendors.
