Our Clinical Documentation Specialists report to the Sr. Manager Clinical Documentation and provide administrative support for various projects. WHAT YOU'LL DO Prints all necessary reports to aide in verifying the medical record complete for claims submission. Verifies insurance for individual patients. Monitors and reports any eligibilities changes to the correct departments. Updates billing rules to the correct payer. Helps to review clinical documentation to verify that it meets billing requirements for specific insurances. Reaches out to other members of the staff to obtain missing or corrected documents. Assists the billing department in any additional tasks. Performs other duties as assigned. WHAT YOU HAVE Associate’s degree Experience in an office setting Working knowledge of computer software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel) Preferred Education and Experience: Experience with Home Health Care billing processes Experience with Medicare rules and regulations Any billing or coding certifications PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: Occasionally required to stand. Occasionally required to walk. Frequently required to sit. Continually required to use hands and fingers. Occasionally required climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl. Occasionally required to lift/push light weights (less than 25 pounds).
