About The Position

As the Clinical Documentation Specialist (CDS), you'll be responsible for concurrently reviewing patient medical records to facilitate the accurate representation of the severity of illness. This involves extensive record review, and interaction with physicians, HIM professionals, and nursing staff. Active participation in team meetings and education of staff in the Compliant Documentation Management Program® (CDMP) process is a key role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field required.
  • 3 years of current experience required.
  • Previous CDS background preferred.
  • All related licensures must be current, active, and in good standing in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Healthcare provider at hire.
  • Knowledge of regulatory guidelines of Medicare Part A.

Responsibilities

  • Review patient medical records concurrently to ensure accurate representation of severity of illness.
  • Interact with physicians, HIM professionals, and nursing staff.
  • Participate in team meetings.
  • Educate staff on the Compliant Documentation Management Program® (CDMP) process.
