About The Position

Reviews clinical documentation and facilitates an accurate account of all medical diagnoses, treatments and decisions rendered during an inpatient or outpatient encounter; collaborates and queries physicians and other medical staff to ensure the capture of all valid diagnoses compliantly. Starting annual salary is $86,681 which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

  • A license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York, graduation from an accredited school of nursing, and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time nursing experience; or
  • A license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New York, graduation from an accredited school of nursing, and the equivalent of five (5) years of full-time nursing experience; or
  • Associate’s Degree with certification as a Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP), Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS), or related certification.
  • Incumbents qualifying under the first “Education and Experience” requirement shown in “1 & 2” above must obtain and maintain Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP), Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS), or related certification within thirty (30) months of appointment to this title as a condition of continued employment.
  • Incumbents qualifying under the second “Education and Experience” requirement shown in “3” above must maintain Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP), Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS), or related certification as a condition of continued employment.
  • Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
