Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare related field.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • 2-5 years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures team compliance with departmental policies, regulatory requirements and professional standards & keeps policies and procedures up-to-date and participates in revisions as needed.
  • Supports and participates in performance improvement initiatives towards increasing the quality of clinical data abstraction.
  • Serves as a clinical documentation and quality subject matter expert; ensures effective coordination/collaboration with other departments and leadership; serves on hospital and system committees as designated.
  • Coordinates staff meetings and provides educational opportunities for staff development.
  • Provides leadership in the planning, direction, problem solving, and support of various initiatives within the department.
  • Provides direction to align staff effort with goals and objectives and advocates best practices.
  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans.
  • Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
