About The Position

Amae Health is a Series B, venture-backed Public Benefit Corporation that delivers specialty outpatient care for people with severe mental illness. We build and operate high-acuity, in-person clinics nationally. Our model integrates psychiatry, therapy, primary care, dietitians, and community support under one roof. It has proven itself as the most effective in the country, which is why we collaborate with leading health systems including NewYork-Presbyterian, Cedars-Sinai, Mass General Brigham, Novant Health, and CommonSpirit to extend our care to where it’s needed most. But what makes us fundamentally different is that we are also building the science and technology layer that this field has never had. We are developing proprietary clinical protocols, designing novel measurement science, and engineering an AI data science platform purpose-built for the complexity of severe mental illness. Every patient interaction generates data that feeds back into our protocols, our technology, and our understanding of what actually works. We reduce hospitalizations. We improve stability. We keep people alive and in their communities. We help our members gain purpose and meaning. We are growing our presence in California and are looking to hire a Northern California Clinical Director to lead the care delivery teams, programs and systems that support our success. Reporting to the Regional VP, the Director is accountable for growing and supporting the Amae’s innovative SMI care model across the Bay Area market, meeting and exceeding key clinical deliverables and modeling the Amae way to our teams. As the Clinical Director, you will partner with our operational leaders to support care delivery across our Los Altos and San Mateo clinics, steering the efforts of a collaborative interdisciplinary care team that includes social workers, therapists, psychiatrists, dietitians, health and wellness coaches, and member support specialists. Your leadership will drive oversight, direction, and continuous improvement of our clinical practices. An experienced leader, you leverage your robust clinical expertise to support teams that provide care that raises the bar for patients with SMI. You don’t settle for the status quo, instead seek to develop teams that represent the gold standard within the clinical space. Your influence as the Clinic Director extends beyond administration, making a profound and positive impact on the lives of our patients. Your insights, empathy, and expertise shape the quality of care we deliver, reflecting our commitment to treating every patient as a whole person. Clinical Leadership: You'll guide and support your teams in day-to-day management, with an eye towards scaling our unique care model without compromising quality. Your role involves crafting strategic plans to evolve current procedures, ensuring the delivery of exceptional, personalized care. Direct Patient Care: This position isn’t only about leadership; you'll be actively involved with patients. You'll oversee admissions and directly manage the intake process, assisting in the development of individualized treatment plans and level of care transitions. You’ll have the opportunity to forge and sustain relationships with our members, their families and caregivers, and have the flexibility to conduct both individual, group, and family therapy sessions. Collaboration & Development: Working hand-in-hand with the Chief Medical Officer, Medical Directors, and the Clinical Operations Team, you will engage in a continuous dialogue to create, refine, and implement innovative processes and procedures.
