About The Position

The Outpatient Clinical Director oversees all aspects of clinical programming, ensuring the delivery of high-quality behavioral health services. This role involves supervising clinical staff, managing patient care, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The Clinical Director works closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment programs that align with best practices in addiction recovery.

Requirements

  • Full clinical licensure required(LPC, LCDC, LCSW).
  • CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Three years of experience in managing clinical programs preferred.
  • Strong clinical leadership and ability to oversee a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills in managing patient care and clinical staff.
  • Effective communication and conflict-resolution skills to address patient, staff, and regulatory concerns.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills to ensure compliance with treatment and legal standards.
  • Ability to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical programming.
  • Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods while overseeing clinical operations.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally for supplies or patient care materials.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment that may involve exposure to emotionally charged situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in social or behavioral science preferred.
  • Full supervision licensure (LPC-S, LPC-MHSP, NCC, ACS)preferred upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and supervision to therapists, counselors,case managers, and sometimes BHT’s, ensuring clinical excellence and adherence to treatment protocols.
  • Develop and implement clinical programming, ensuring alignment with state and federal regulations, industry standards, and organizational goals.
  • Oversee admissions, discharges, and extensions of treatment, ensuring decisionsalignwith patient needs and clinical best practices.
  • Ensureall treatment schedules, staff schedules, and group therapy offerings are maintained and delivered effectively.
  • Conduct staff meetings, case reviews, and clinical supervision to support professional development and ensurehigh standardsof patient care.
  • When needed,carrya clinical caseload to supplement client therapy needs.
  • Provide direct clinical supervision to therapists and counselors working toward licensure.
  • Ensure ongoing training and professional development opportunities for clinical staff, enhancing knowledge in addiction treatment and evidence-based practices.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide feedback, coaching, and correctiveactionsas necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state and federal regulations, and accreditation requirements such asCARF.
  • Conduct regular audits of patient records, documentation, and treatment plans tomaintainquality and compliance.
  • Participate inutilizationreview meetings,representingpatient needs in both clinical and financial considerations.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve clinical operations and enhance patient outcomes.
  • Mediate patient and family concernsregardingtreatment delivery, ensuring a patient-centered approach.
  • Collaborate with medical staff, case management, and social services to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Stay current with emerging trends in addiction treatment and integrate new research into clinical programming.
