About The Position

The Clinical Director is responsible for providing clinical and behavioral consultation services across residential, day habilitation, and family support programs. This role involves developing and implementing behavioral plans, staff training, crisis prevention, and home-based clinical support for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism and acquired brain injury. The Clinical Director ensures compliance with DDS, DMA, and EEC regulations and works closely with program managers, registered nurses, and external specialists to coordinate comprehensive care for individuals with complex medical and behavioral needs.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in human services or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and/or acquired brain injury.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to pass all background checks (CORI, DPPC, DMR, etc.).
  • Valid Massachusetts driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
  • First Aid/CPR certification (must be obtained within the first month of employment).
  • Completion of Charles River Center’s CORE Curriculum within three months, maintaining annual certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and HRIS systems.
  • Fluent in English, with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports and clinical data.
  • Strong ability to write professional reports, progress notes, and correspondence.
  • Capacity to effectively communicate with individuals using various communication methods.
  • Ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in data analysis and behavioral program evaluation.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple demands effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Positive, targeted, and intensive behavior plans in accordance with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and DDS regulations.
  • Present behavior plans to the Human Rights and Peer Review Committee, ensuring timely submission and reporting back as needed.
  • Guide and facilitate the development of targeted behavioral plans, ensuring interventions are effective yet minimally intrusive.
  • Train and collaborate with staff and families to properly implement and monitor behavioral interventions, including data collection, analysis, and feedback.
  • Participate in intake and orientation for new individuals, assessing clinical needs and staffing support.
  • Act as a resource for individuals, families, referral sources, and staff regarding behavioral treatment plans.
  • Work with Program Directors to establish monitoring systems for behavioral interventions and compliance with contract and environmental controls.
  • Attend psychiatric appointments for individuals with complex clinical needs and coordinate referrals for additional services.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain an agency-wide RBT Program in ABA practices ensuring that all licensed staff obtain and maintain certification status.
  • Ensure adherence to DDS, DMA, and EEC regulations and compliance with CARF and Survey & Certification standards.
  • Train staff in non-violent crisis prevention techniques and legal restraint protocols provided through SafetyCare curriculum.
  • Maintain regular communication with service providers, families, guardians, and community partners.
  • Develop and foster relationships with external referral sources, including school districts and psychological professionals.
  • Collaborate with Family Support to provide home-based clinical support focused on ADLs, behavior management, social skills, and community integration.
  • Participate in hiring and supervising home-based clinicians.
  • Ensure compliance with DDS Licensing and Certification standards, CARF accreditation, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Be physically capable of performing crisis interventions, including protective holds (restraints) and assisting with mobility-related tasks.
  • Provide coverage to other Charles River Center programs as needed.
  • Attend Human Rights Committee meetings and uphold organizational mission, vision, and values.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to Charles River Center policies and procedures, assisting in policy updates when needed.
  • Attend required meetings punctually.
  • Provide transportation for individuals as necessary.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, attend trainings, and share knowledge with staff.
  • Represent the Charles River Center professionally in all interactions.
  • Support fundraising and agency events.
