About The Position

The Clinical Director is a hybrid clinician and leader, balancing direct patient care with administrative and leadership responsibilities. Each Director receives 4 dedicated weekly admin hours for leadership tasks, KPI tracking, and clinic oversight. Full Time Compensation: Salaried and exempt from overtime pay. Includes Clinic Performance Incentive Plan (clinic-wide bonus based on KPIs). 40 hours (36 patient hours + 4 admin hours) is preferred 36 hours is the minimum requirement to be eligible for the Clinical Director role (32 patient hours + 4 admin hours) A prorated salary increase will be applied for schedules between 36 and 39 hours

Requirements

  • Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapy Program (or Occupational Therapy equivalent)
  • Current state Physical Therapist or PTA license
  • 3–5 years of clinical experience with demonstrated leadership capacity
  • Current BLS Certification
  • English-speaking preferred
  • Proven financial planning and management skills
  • Knowledge of legal, medical, and accreditation compliance
  • Strong organizational and delegation skills
  • Compassionate, excellent at clinical duties and patient care
  • Able to lift 50 lbs, assist patients, and meet published physical demand norms

Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and direct physical therapists, PTAs, and aides.
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, and development.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and resolve department issues.
  • Uphold accountability through productivity standards and monthly 1:1 meetings.
  • Train staff on evaluations, treatment plans, and discharges.
  • Ensure delivery of “WOW” patient experience.
  • Monitor Net Promoter Scores (NPS) and manage patient feedback.
  • Uphold best practices in therapy techniques and program effectiveness.
  • Maintain high team morale and positive culture.
  • Coordinate with leadership on events and staff well-being initiatives.
  • Reinforce company values in daily practice.
  • Track and monitor KPIs weekly, monthly, and quarterly.
  • Achieve >86% clinic efficiency and other departmental benchmarks.
  • Submit agendas, scorecards, and patient reporting consistently.
  • Set organizational structure for your clinic division.
  • Attend leadership meetings, quarterly planning, and annual planning.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and resolve departmental issues.
  • Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financials.
  • Partner with COO/Owner to set financial targets.
  • Manage clinic budget and resources.
  • Monitor billing efficiency, documentation timeliness, and claim approvals.
  • Build and maintain referral relationships (Practice 25).
  • Partner with Office Manager on active patient reporting and wellness checks.
  • Participate in physician outreach, workshops, and Empower University events.
  • Support practice-building efforts (social media, reviews, testimonials, reactivation).
  • Train staff in referral and graduation-day processes.
  • Ensure full compliance with state/federal regulations, medical standards, and accreditation.
  • Provide patient care

  • 1:1 staff check-ins (values, productivity, growth)
  • Attend planning meetings
  • Review referral patterns and clinic performance
  • Update policies/procedures as needed
  • Conduct staff satisfaction surveys and performance reviews
  • Attend annual planning meeting
  • Review progress, set new goals
  • Revisit mission, vision, and values
