About The Position

The Director ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall function and staffing of the clinical departments in addition to forecasting, planning, and budget monitoring. The Director fosters a culture of accountability and collaboration and supports the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and procedures in support of facility objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
  • Minimum (5) years direct RN experience; preferably in an ambulatory surgery center surgical setting
  • Minimum (3) years clinical supervisory experience
  • Experience in OR or PACU required
  • Active RN license as required by state of employment
  • Valid BCLS Certification upon employment. online certification not acceptable
  • ACLS and PALS

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise all areas of nursing care
  • Establish and maintain an effective and supportive working relationship with your Administrator
  • Ensure that the day-to-day operations are conducted in accordance with clinical practice standards and policies of the center
  • Ensure sufficient staffing daily by notifying your team of scheduling changes in a timely manner
  • Participate in the monitoring and evaluation of nursing care provided
  • Accessible to your staff by providing breaks, ensuring coverage for meal breaks, late cases and staffing shortages
  • Monitor your clinical area to ensure materials are provided for each case in advance
  • Facilitate effective and efficient transition between surgical procedures
  • Delegate, coach, mentor and handle conflict resolution with your team
  • Ability to build trust and gain the respect of your team through effective leadership and participation skills
