Short Description Direct responsibility for the daily operations of assigned department(s); including but not limited to: overseeing daily practice operations, recruitment, retention, adherence to policies and procedures, support ongoing education of staff, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and responsible for fiscal responsibility of unit/department. Overview Kelemen 8 is a medical-surgical unit that cares for patients with a wide variety of diagnoses, illnesses and disease processes. North and South 8 have telemetry capabilities for our patients. Kelemen 8 has frequent admissions and discharges. Kelemen 8 can accept a total of 77 patients. The North side houses 37 patients, and the South side houses 36 patients. There are two negative pressure rooms with an anti-room. There is a pharmacist present on the unit to assist the RNs with medication questions/concerns. Multidisciplinary rounds occur every Monday through Friday. Rounds involve all aspects of the healthcare team, including the patient and family

Requirements

3- 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with demonstrated leadership abilities.
Requires strong planning skills and a solid understanding of Patient and Family Centered Care.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
Graduate from an NLN accredited school of nursing.
BSN required.
Current New Jersey license as a Registered Nurse, BLS certification.

Nice To Haves

6-10 years preferred.
MSN preferred
National certification preferred within area of specialty for critical care, operating room, endoscopy and trauma.
Certain specialties may require advanced certification (i.e. ACLS, NRP, PALS).
Certification within specialty area preferred (CCRN, CMSRN, CNOR, CEN, PCCN, CNML, NE-BC…)
