Direct responsibility for the daily operations of assigned department(s); including but not limited to: overseeing daily practice operations, recruitment, retention, adherence to policies and procedures, support ongoing education of staff, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and responsible for fiscal responsibility of unit/department. Directs and coordinates effective operations of the unit/department with 24/7 responsibility to ensure continuity of care and oversight of other management functions. Directs and coordinates quality efforts of the unit/department to align with organizational goals. Ensures delivery of quality patient care and interdepartmental collaboration of best practices. Responsible for overseeing the departmental budget to ensure financial accountability for cost effective/efficient provision of care. Responsible for supporting a healthy work environment which engages staff and supports professional growth and development. Facilitates ongoing education and ensures clinical competency of nursing personnel adherence to nursing policies. Responsible for interviewing and onboarding clinical staff. Responsible for coordinating with the AVP of Nursing Operations clinical departmental needs according to administrative and patient care guidelines. Ensures patient data and medical records are maintained in confidential manner. Overview Kelemen North and South 9 is a two-sided, seventy-six bed Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit. Our staff care for a variety of patient populations, including cardiac, trauma, gastrointestinal, and psych. Also to support our staff are Clinical Nurse Managers (CNMs) which help with patient care, through put, and assignments. Nurses who are staffed on Kelemen 9 are required to have Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications, which will allow competent and safe care for our complex patient populations.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience in nursing leadership.
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Current NJ RN license required.
  • Communication – Ability to communicate with patients, visitors and coworkers required.

Nice To Haves

  • 6-10 years experience preferred.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Valid Driver's license preferred.
  • Certification within specialty area (CCRN, CMSRN, CNOR, CEN, PCCN, CNML, NE-BC…)
