About The Position

Overview We are seeking a Clinical Dietitian , also referred to as a Registered Dietitian . The Registered Dietitian (RD) in our hospital designs and implements nutrition care plans for patients, tailoring diets to medical needs. Clinical Dietitian’s assess nutritional status, monitor progress, educate patients and families, collaborate with healthcare teams, and ensure dietary staff prepares meals that meet safety and health standards. The Registered Dietitian’s goal is to improve patient outcomes through effective nutrition management. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PRN as needed . Shift’s Available : Weekends Employment Type : Per Diem Location : Dallas Regional Medical Center - Mesquite, TX Nutrition experience and nutrition support as it relates to tube feedings and (Total Pare nteral Nutrition) TPN. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): N utritional a ssessment: evaluate patients' dietary needs based on medical conditions, lab results, and health history D evelop m eal p lans: create individualized nutrition plans to support recovery, manage chronic diseases, or address specific conditions like diabetes, heart disease, or malnutrition T rack patients’ progress, adjust meal plans as needed, and ensure nutritional goals are met W ork closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to integrate nutrition into patient care plans E ducate patients and their families about proper nutrition education , special diets, or post-discharge meal planning E nsure meals prepared by the dietary staff align with prescribed diets and safety standards

Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) license
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting providing patient nutritional care
  • Strong understanding of medical nutrition therapy (MNT)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to educate and motivate patients and families on healthy eating habits
  • Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems

Responsibilities
