Job Overview: Principal accountabilities include planning, directly participating in and documenting all aspects of the nutritional care of patients in assigned areas. Performs nutritional assessment and documents nutrition diagnosis based on guidelines outlined by the nutrition care process Discusses the nutrition diagnosis and provides nutrition counseling that outlines nutrition goals with patient, families, and other team members when possible. Collaborates with internal and external resources to implement nutritional care plan Monitor and evaluates the effectiveness of the patients nutrition care plan and revises plan as needed Relates basic principles of nutrition to staff, health care team members and community Reviews current research to enhance professional practice Serves on at least one hospital committee and provides pertinent feedback positively impacting decisions that affect the department, hospital and community Demonstrates awareness of professional time management and uses time efficiently and productively Is open to change and has the ability to alter ones task with minimal loss of efficacy
