About The Position

What the Clinical Dietitian will do: Develops and implements a plan of nutritional care utilizing accepted dietary standards based on assessment of nutritional needs and correlates with other healthcare plans. Communicates patient nutritional information to appropriate health team members, sets priorities on daily work assignments. Participates in monitoring and evaluating the quality and appropriateness of nutritional care Instructs in-patients and out-patients in prescribed diets and provides follow up services to assess adequacy of nutritional care, demonstrates accountability for hospital resources. Identifies personal learning needs related to clinical and age related patient populations, educates dietary staff in areas of clinical nutrition including use of diet manuals, meal patterns, maintains competency in accessing and documenting patient information in the automated patient medical record as defined by policy and procedure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university.
  • Master’s Degree as required by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (effective Jan. 1, 2024) or bachelor’s degree grandfathered prior to this update.
  • Registered member for the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • If Dietetic Registration Eligible. Must be able to pass RD examination within 6 months of date of hire.
