About The Position

Hospital Details Vibra Hospital of Denver, located in Thornton, CO, is a 54 bed Critical Care Hospital providing acute care services to patients recovering from serious illnesses or injuries. Often our patients require additional critical care services for medically complex conditions such as trauma, infectious diseases, wound healing, cardiovascular disease, stroke, amputation and ventilator weaning. As a smaller, specialized hospital, we offer an opportunity to work in a fast-paced and friendly work environment where you really get to know your patients and their families. Responsibilities Responsible for the quality of nutritional care provided to both hospitalized and ambulatory patients. Performs nutritional assessments/evaluations and makes dietary recommendations. Provides patient counseling and education. Develops nutritional care, and monitors and implements changes as appropriate. Implements nutrition therapy orders and verifies implementation of orders. Monitors and evaluates patient's adherence to, acceptance of, and tolerance for prescribed nutrition therapy. Re-evaluates/updates nutrition care on a regular basis. Accountable for the planning and directing of the nutrition office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Current, valid, and active license and/or certification to practice as a Registered Dietitian in the state of employment required.
  • Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of clinical experience in a hospital setting required.

Nice To Haves

  • Current BLS certification from a Vibra-approved vendor preferred.
  • Knowledge in modern principles and practices of dietetics preferred.
  • Knowledge in safety and sanitation standards applicable to hospital food service preferred.
  • Ability to project a professional image.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
  • Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
