Requirements

  • Current Registered Dietitian license in the state of Maryland.
  • Bachelor's degree with a major in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Dietitian, preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Nutrition Care Process and ability to apply all steps of the process.
  • A strong desire to deliver care in an empathetic, compassionate way.
  • Superb organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in a skilled nursing facility is highly desired.
  • Decision making, problem solving, and collaboration skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Interdisciplinary Team to ensure residents receive the best clinical care possible.
  • Provide nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy integrated with the patient's medical needs.
  • Assess and identify the nutritional status of residents using validated screening tools.
  • Complete timely nutrition assessments and Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments as required.
  • Plan, develop, implement and monitor the nutrition plan of care for each resident.
  • Provide nutrition recommendations for patients reliant on enteral nutrition support.
  • Provide nutrition education to patients and families.
  • Utilize current standards and evidence-based practices.
  • Prioritize patient-based care and residents’ rights.
  • Complete monthly quality assurance and process improvement audits.
