Requirements

Current Registered Dietitian license in the state of Maryland.
Bachelor's degree with a major in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
At least 2 years of experience as a Dietitian, preferred.
Knowledge of the Nutrition Care Process and ability to apply all steps of the process.
A strong desire to deliver care in an empathetic, compassionate way.
Superb organizational and time management skills.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Strong leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience working in a skilled nursing facility is highly desired.
Decision making, problem solving, and collaboration skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

Work closely with the Interdisciplinary Team to ensure residents receive the best clinical care possible.
Provide nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy integrated with the patient's medical needs.
Assess and identify the nutritional status of residents using validated screening tools.
Complete timely nutrition assessments and Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments as required.
Plan, develop, implement and monitor the nutrition plan of care for each resident.
Provide nutrition recommendations for patients reliant on enteral nutrition support.
Provide nutrition education to patients and families.
Utilize current standards and evidence-based practices.
Prioritize patient-based care and residents’ rights.
Complete monthly quality assurance and process improvement audits.
