Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position ​​The RD assess, implements, monitors the dietary changes of all patients. They initiate diet, behavior modifications and goals for each individual patient. The RD is responsible to collaborate with other healthcare professionals, monitor patient progress, and stay current with research to support diet and lifestyle changes. The RD is responsible for ongoing professional growth. ​

Requirements

  • Graduate Degree (Masters)
  • Specialty/Major: ​​Dietetics/Nutrition
  • Licensed & Registered Dietitian with​ State of Ohio
  • 1-3 years’ experience. Must be a graduate of a college or university with an accredited master’s degree in dietetics. Completion of supervised dietetic internship, pass the Commission on Dietetic Registration exam. Must maintain CE requirements needed for ADA.
  • RD must possess 1:1 and group communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Conducts patient assessments within the practice
  • Responsible for assisting in training of incoming dietitians
  • Participates in community outreach to provide nutrition education at community events including but not limited to employer health fair, community health fairs, high school career events.
  • Responsible to conduct pre-op nutrition education group classes for patients.
  • RD performs comprehensive nutritional assessments, creating personalized nutrition and meal plans.
  • RD will design and implement nutrition programs and create education materials specific to support women’s health during perimenopause and menopause phase of life.
  • Provides education and counseling for hormonal imbalance and chronic conditions
  • Evaluate the nutritional readiness of the prospective bariatric surgery patient
  • Review lab results to determine vitamin and mineral deficiencies
  • Formulate plan to correct vitamin and mineral deficiencies -recommend supplements
  • Develop and host at least 2 Support Group meetings each calendar year
