About The Position

As a Dietitian - Transplant you will responsible for planning, organizing, and evaluating all phases of nutritional care for pre-transplant as well as post-transplant patient populations at several MHS Transplant Clinics. As a Dietitian - Transplant you will coordinate and maintain a high standard of nutritional care and provide advice regarding patient candidacy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree focused on nutritional aspects of patient care in acute care setting.
  • Registered Dietitian and Licensed in the State of Texas.
  • Minimum 3 years work experience as a Registered Dietician.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nutritional assessment, develop plans of care and educate patients and caregivers as appropriate.
  • Participate in satellite clinic operations for patient assessment and multi-disciplinary meetings with the transplant team members to deem candidacy.
  • Meet patient needs and understand the disease process as well as dialysis needs for patients undergoing transplant evaluation and follow up.
  • Determine recommendations for nutritional status improvements and provide direction and instruction for resolution of barriers to transplantation.
  • Maintain documentation in the patient's medical record all interventions and recommendations to determine candidacy.
  • Collaborate with medical team as well as referring dieticians to determine the best transplant plan of care and waitlist nutritional management.
