Reviews medical records, records diet histories, and assesses the nutritional status of patients. Teaches patients and family members the therapeutic diet and modifies the current diet to make lifestyle changes. Monitors patient food tolerances and intake. Assesses patients on parenteral and enteral feedings. Records the assessment on the Progress Note and/or by computerized charting. Serves as a resource for medical nutrition therapy for the community.
