MultiCare Cancer Institute is a physician-led, multi-specialty group within MultiCare Health System, delivering integrated hematology, oncology, radiation, surgical and supportive care across Washington state. This position works closely with the interdisciplinary health care team to provide medical nutrition therapy and services that are integrated and compatible with the patient’s medical program goals and objectives. Provides high quality, evidence-based, efficient, customer-focused medical nutrition therapy, including nutrition screening, assessment, care planning and education for appropriate nutrition intervention. Recommends and helps manage specialized nutrition support for patients when appropriate. Communicates and coordinates with physician and other health care personnel as needed on the nutrition care plan of the patients. Evaluates the need for medical nutrition therapy education and develops a plan based on learning needs and evaluates the effectiveness of the education process. Includes family or others in the process as identified necessary. Evaluates the effectiveness and measures progress towards outcomes of medical nutrition therapy interventions. Reassesses nutrition care process and implements changes as indicated.
