The position also requires recommending and implementing diet therapy and nutrition support modalities, conferring with medical and nursing staff to coordinate patient nutritional care, and participating in medical rounds and conferences. Additionally, the role includes conducting nutrition in-services for medical staff, monitoring patient progress, developing follow-up recommendations, counseling patients and families on appropriate diet and nutrition practices, documenting patient care activities, and ensuring continuity of care by communicating with appropriate nutrition personnel. The position also involves participating in department operations related to clinical responsibilities, completing quality assurance reports, assisting in training new staff, and maintaining current knowledge of advancements in the field through various educational programs.
