About The Position

Facilitates the nutrition care process to provide patients with optimal medical nutrition therapy under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). Posting Specifics Pay Rate: Based on Experience (Range) Shift Details: PRN (as needed). Monday - Friday, 8hr day shift, rotating weekends and holidays. This position will cover LDSH, Riverton and Alta View Essential Functions Under supervision of Registered Dietitian: Conducts nutrition screening and manages nutrition tasks for techs and dietitians. Completes nutrition data gathering and analysis including calorie counts. Completes and documents nutrition assessment. Identifies and documents nutrition diagnosis. Identifies and implements appropriate nutrition interventions including quality nutrition education based on customer needs, expectations, and culture. Monitors and evaluates individual nutrition outcomes related to nutrition diagnosis, goals, and interventions. Communicates nutrition expertise with all appropriate healthcare providers. Provides patients with nutrition care and education. Escalates patient needs and concerns to appropriate RDN.

Requirements

  • Registered Diet Technician with Commission on Dietetic Registration OR Enrolled in an ACEND accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics, Dietetic Internship, Coordinated Program, or graduate-level competency-based dietitian nutritionist program with completion of clinical internship hours.
  • Registration as either Registered Diet Technician or Registered Dietitian with Commission on Dietetic Registration within 6 months of graduation.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply the Nutrition Care Process in completing nutrition assessments.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, organizational and decision-making ability.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency.
  • Experience in a role requiring effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience transcribing information quickly and accurately.
